Non-surgical lip enhancement

Lips

You don’t need to undergo surgery to come closer to the lip shape and contours that you find appealing. Our laser and skin clinic provides many non-invasive cosmetic treatments for lips to clients in Vancouver, BC. Non-surgical lip enhancement may include: dermal fillers to provide volume and Fraxel laser skin resurfacing to reduce the appearance of fine lines and rejuvenate the skin.

Lip Border Loss

What is it?

Reduce Lip Border LossWhen the edge or the border around your lips begins to lose definition, your lips appear thinner, lipstick becomes very difficult to apply and small lines begin to form. We often don’t realize this has happened until we analyze photos of ourselves from years ago.

What can be done?

Redefining the lip border is an important part of lip enhancement but it is sometimes the only part of the lip that needs rejuvenating.

The best lip fillers are Emervel ®, Belotero, Restylane and Juvederm Ultra which are injected along the border edge to subtly re-create the shape of the lips. Using too much filler is avoided so as not to create a “duck” look.

Numbing cream is used before any lip treatment and the filler itself has an anesthetic agent in it to keep the treatment comfortable.

Results for this treatment can last from 6 to 12 months.

Lip Corners

What is it?

As the lips tend to be one of our most sensual features, it can be distressing when we notice that they no longer have the luscious appeal they once had. For some, full lips have only ever been a dream and finally being able to have them is exciting.

Thinning lips and volume loss with age are common and can make the area between your lips and your nose, known as the parafiltrum appear longer. Even the most subtle of lip enhancement treatments can make a pleasing difference.

What can be done?

Lips can be custom designed in your consultation the Dr. Gidon Frame. If you prefer a larger top lip or a more commonly chosen, larger bottom lip, both are easily achievable with soft fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm Ultra. The key is to not make your lips look like someone else’s but instead, like yours were, say 5 or 10 years ago. The lips need to remain in balance with the rest of your face and give a ‘just applied gloss’ look by increasing the visible surface.

Most people prefer to put smaller amounts in and have their lips touched up every 6 months. With numbing cream and an anesthetic in the filler itself, gone are the days of discomfort during lip enhancement.
