Penile girth enhancement uses injectable filler beneath the skin of the penile shaft to add thickness and circumference. Sometimes searched as "penis enlargement," it's a cosmetic treatment focused on girth.
At Anti-Aging Medical & Laser Clinic in Vancouver, Dr. Gidon Frame and Dr. Teri Fisher offer private consultations to talk through your concerns, assess suitability and explain the benefits, limitations and risks, so you can ask questions openly and make an informed decision.
How much change you'll see depends on your anatomy, the filler selected and your treatment plan, and your physician talks this through with you in detail.

Depending on your assessment, options may include hyaluronic acid (HA) filler, Radiesse, which contains calcium hydroxyapatite, or HArmonyCa, which combines HA and calcium hydroxyapatite. Your physician explains the proposed product and why it's being considered.
These products differ in their properties, the evidence supporting penile use and how complications can be managed. Published research on HA doesn't automatically apply to Radiesse or HArmonyCa.
HA filler can often be reduced or dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, although this doesn't guarantee complete reversal. Hyaluronidase doesn't dissolve calcium hydroxyapatite, so Radiesse and the calcium component of HArmonyCa are managed differently.
Your physician also explains each product's approved indications. Use for penile enhancement is off-label, which means the product is being used outside its approved indication.
The aim is a cosmetic increase in shaft thickness, for adults who understand the treatment's limits and are comfortable with its potential risks.
Shaft filler focuses on girth. Erection difficulties, low libido, testosterone, infertility, curvature or Peyronie's disease, and premature ejaculation are each assessed separately through our men's sexual-health care. Glans filler for premature ejaculation is a different procedure, discussed in its own assessment.
New curvature, pain, a lump or changes after an injury are medically assessed before any cosmetic procedure.
Suitability begins with an assessment of your health, anatomy and expectations. Your physician talks with you about what's motivating your interest and whether a cosmetic procedure is likely to address your concern.
Normal penile size and shape vary widely. If worries about size are causing significant distress, further assessment or psychological support may be recommended first, as part of caring for your wellbeing. Guidelines recommend assessment for body dysmorphic disorder when appropriate and advise against filler enhancement in men with penile dysmorphic disorder.
Your medical history, medications and previous treatments are reviewed at your consultation to confirm which option suits you.
Your consultation and treatment are provided by Dr. Gidon Frame or Dr. Teri Fisher. The consultation usually takes about 30 minutes and covers:
An intimate examination may be needed to assess suitability. You're welcome to ask for a chaperone, and let your physician know if you feel anxious about the examination or injections.
If you decide to proceed, your physician explains the treatment plan and obtains your informed consent. The selected filler is injected beneath the skin of the shaft, with local anesthetic and other comfort measures discussed beforehand. The treatment appointment usually takes about one to one and a half hours.
Your plan may involve one appointment or a staged approach, with reassessment before more filler is considered. The amount and number of sessions are based on your anatomy and goals.

An increase in thickness may be noticeable after treatment, although swelling can affect the appearance at first. Your physician explains when to assess the settled result and when follow-up is due.
The effect may soften over time, and longevity depends on the product and your individual response. Further treatment can be considered after reassessment.
Research has reported increased girth following HA treatment, including follow-up over 18 months in one comparative trial. That study assessed HA and polylactic acid and doesn't establish outcomes for Radiesse or HArmonyCa, and longer-term evidence is still developing. Individual results vary.
Swelling, bruising and tenderness can occur after treatment. As a general guide, avoid masturbation and intercourse for a few days, until the swelling settles and you feel comfortable, and avoid pressure or friction on the area. You'll also receive instructions about hygiene and exercise, and your physician will tell you when to resume normal activities.
You'll be given an emergency phone number and clear guidance on the signs that mean you should go to the emergency department. For most people, follow-up is a phone call the next day, a review at about two weeks, again at three months, and then at nine months. After clinic hours, the clinic has a number that reaches the relevant physician directly when needed.
Contact the clinic promptly for increasing pain, spreading redness, warmth, fever or unusual swelling. Severe pain or a concerning change in skin colour needs urgent medical assessment, without waiting for a routine follow-up.
Possible complications include bruising, swelling, tenderness, unevenness, lumps or nodules, filler migration, infection and dissatisfaction with the appearance. Serious complications can include compromised blood supply and tissue injury.
Some complications may need medication, filler dissolution where appropriate, specialist care or another procedure. Choosing a dissolvable filler doesn't remove all risks.
Your physician explains the risks relevant to the proposed product and your circumstances, and the evidence for penile enhancement is still developing.
Whether treatment is right for you, or a reason to wait, depends on your health, anatomy, medications and any previous procedures in the area. Your physician reviews all of this with you in the confidential consultation before anything is decided.
Medical and sexual-health consultations are physician appointments with a consultation fee. Your consultation with Dr. Frame or Dr. Fisher is $199, confirmed when you book, and includes a full assessment and an unhurried discussion of your options.
Penile enhancement is a customized treatment, so the cost varies from person to person. For many patients the treatment is around $4,500, though the range is broad and depends on the product used, the amount of filler and the plan agreed with your physician. You receive a personalized quote before you decide to proceed.
It's worth asking whether your quote includes follow-up visits, whether additional treatment carries a separate fee, and what costs may apply if a complication needs treatment.
If you're also concerned about erection difficulties, reduced sexual desire or possible testosterone deficiency, our clinic offers separate medical assessments. Let us know when booking so we can arrange the right consultation.

FAQ
Shaft filler is designed to add girth and circumference. Erect length stays the same, and your physician can explain what change in thickness is realistic for your anatomy at your consultation.
Results soften over time, and longevity varies with the product and your individual response. Additional treatment can be considered after a reassessment with your physician.
HA filler can often be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, though this doesn't guarantee every complication can be reversed. Calcium hydroxyapatite, found in Radiesse and HArmonyCa, isn't dissolved by that enzyme. Your physician explains how this affects your choice of product.
Girth enhancement is a cosmetic treatment for shaft thickness. Erection concerns have their own medical assessment, which looks at contributing causes such as heart health and hormones, and can be arranged alongside your consultation.
Your assessment comes first, and the consultation takes about 30 minutes. Whether treatment can follow at that visit depends on suitability, your plan and appointment arrangements, and you're welcome to take time to consider your options.
